Iran rebuts Vance’s claims about IAEA access to Iran

2026-06-22 18:00

Odaily Planet Daily News According to CNN, Iran stated on Monday that it will continue to cooperate with the United Nations nuclear watchdog "in accordance with existing procedures." This comes after senior US officials said Tehran had agreed to allow International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors to return to Iran, a claim that Iran has refuted.

The Islamic Republic News Agency quoted Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Baghaei as saying that Iran's interaction with the IAEA will be carried out "in accordance with Iran's obligations under the Safeguards Agreement" and "in line with the resolutions passed by the parliament and the decisions of the Supreme National Security Council." Earlier, US Vice President Vance stated at a press conference in Switzerland that Iran had agreed to allow IAEA inspectors to enter the country. (Jin Shi)
