SpaceX officially disclosed its holding of 18,712 bitcoins. At a price of approximately $63,000 per coin, the bitcoin holdings are valued at about $1.18 billion, making SpaceX the 8th largest publicly held bitcoin entity globally. The related position information was disclosed in SpaceX's IPO filing document S-1 submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Elon Musk's other publicly traded company, Tesla, holds 11,509 bitcoins, and the two companies together control 30,221 bitcoins. SpaceX's average purchase cost for its bitcoin holdings is approximately $35,000 per coin. (bitcointreasuries)
