Sources: The Memorandum of Understanding between the US and Iran is tentatively titled the "Islamabad Declaration", with the signing ceremony likely to be held in Geneva
Odaily Planet Daily News: Three informed sources have revealed that the signing ceremony for the US-Iran Memorandum of Understanding is most likely to be held in Geneva, Switzerland. US President Donald Trump loudly announced a "great reconciliation plan" aimed at ending the war with Iran on Thursday local time, and stated that it would be finalized within days. He said the signing ceremony is expected to be held in Europe soon, and Vice President Vance will attend. However, Iranian officials have not yet confirmed that any agreement has been reached.
Two sources familiar with the diplomatic negotiations pointed out that the location for the signing ceremony was chosen in Geneva – not far from where Trump and the US delegation are scheduled to attend the French G7 summit next week. One of them said that the signing ceremony will mark the entry of diplomatic negotiations into a "second phase," where all parties will begin to implement the Memorandum of Understanding.
Multiple other sources said that the memorandum is named the "Islamabad Declaration" to acknowledge the key role Pakistan played in mediation. However, nothing is finalized yet. An Iranian source revealed that the Austrian capital, Vienna, is also among the alternative locations. (Jin Shi)
