Japanese Liberal Democratic Party Lawmaker Alliance Submits Web3 Policy Proposal, Calling for Blockchain to Be Incorporated into National Strategy
Odaily Planet Daily News The Liberal Democratic Party's Blockchain Promotion Parliamentary League submitted a policy proposal to Finance Minister Katsuyama Satsuki on June 1, calling for blockchain and Web3 to be clearly included in the national strategy.
The proposal covers multiple areas including tax reform, crypto ETFs, leverage trading regulation, dealing with unregistered operators, crypto strategy, and trade logistics. Among them, the proposal suggests further studying the choice mechanism between "separate declaration taxation" and "withholding-at-source taxation" for crypto assets, and exploring tax treatment methods for exchanges between crypto assets and inheritance scenarios.
In terms of derivatives regulation, the proposal argues that the current 2x limit on individual crypto leverage trading is too low, suggesting a gradual increase in leverage levels in conjunction with a margin management system. At the same time, the proposal also calls for clarifying the positioning of the crypto ETF system and strengthening law enforcement cooperation with overseas regulatory authorities.
Katsuyama Satsuki stated that she will actively promote the establishment of relevant systems, including promoting the implementation of crypto ETFs and studying the implementation of a new tax system in January 2028. (Coinpost)
