Bessent wrote: "The US government will absolutely not tolerate any attempt to forcibly implement a toll mechanism in the Strait of Hormuz. Oman, in particular, should understand that the US Treasury will impose severe sanctions on any entity or individual that, whether directly or indirectly, assists in the toll collection in this strait; any partner that willingly acts as an accomplice will be punished."
