US Treasury Secretary Bessent: Iran's Oil Storage Exhausted, Forced to Cease Production
Odaily Planet Daily reports that US Treasury Secretary Bessent stated that Iran's oil storage is full and Tehran will need to halt oil production. Following the US blockade on Iranian oil exports, the key issue in this conflict is: how long can the oil that Iran cannot export be stored before running out of space? Some analysts believe Iran still has several weeks of storage capacity, and Tehran has begun to slowly reduce production to address this deadlock.
In an interview with CNBC's program "Financial Forum," Bessent said that over the past three days, due to the US blockade preventing tankers from entering or leaving the Persian Gulf, Iran has been unable to load tankers at its main oil export terminal, Kharg Island. Within the first month of the US blockade, US forces have forced 70 ships reportedly heading to or departing from Iranian ports to change course. (Jinshi)
