Jefferies: US and Iran maintain a state of neither war nor peace, but Iran has the advantage of time
Odaily Planet Daily News Jefferies economist Kumar pointed out in a research report that after the US president and Iran mutually rejected each other's proposals to end the war, the "neither war nor peace" situation continues to prevail. Kumar said that Iran refuses to dismantle its nuclear program, which is the key demand put forward by Trump; at the same time, the Strait of Hormuz remains effectively closed. Kumar wrote: "Trump does want to reach a deal, but he must prove to his supporters that the US has successfully reached an agreement on the nuclear issue—which is the entire purpose of launching this war." Kumar further pointed out that the resilience shown by the US economy indicates that the war has not yet had any substantial impact on the US; while Iran has the advantage of time, and its persistence may even outlast Trump's patience.
