US Military: Attacked While Crossing the Strait, Struck Iran, No Intention to Escalate Situation
Odaily Planet Daily News The U.S. Central Command stated that on May 7, when U.S. Navy missile destroyers were transiting the Strait of Hormuz toward the Gulf of Oman, the U.S. military intercepted an unprovoked attack by Iran and conducted a self-defense counterstrike. As the destroyers USS Truxtun, USS Rafael Peralta, and USS Mason passed through this international waterway, Iranian forces launched multiple missiles, drones, and dispatched several small boats. (The attack) caused no damage to any U.S. military assets.
The U.S. Central Command neutralized the incoming threats and struck Iranian military facilities responsible for the attack on U.S. forces, including missile and drone launch sites, command and control centers, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance nodes.
