US media: US proposes forming coalition to restore ship navigation through the Strait
Odaily Planet Daily News According to the Wall Street Journal, the US government is calling on other countries to join a new international coalition to help ships safely navigate the Strait of Hormuz. In an internal cable sent to embassies on Tuesday, the US State Department outlined this initiative called "Maritime Freedom Construct," urging American diplomats to push foreign governments to sign relevant agreements. The cable stated that the US-led coalition will share information, coordinate diplomatically, and enforce sanctions. The coalition operation will be jointly conducted by the US State Department, which will serve as a coordination center for diplomatic affairs, and the US Central Command, which will provide real-time maritime situational awareness services for commercial shipping and coordinate information sharing among partner militaries. When asked about this proposal, a senior administration official confirmed that this idea is one of many diplomatic and policy resources available to President Trump.
