Iranian Lawmaker: Iran Has Formed a Comprehensive Plan for Managing the Strait of Hormuz
Odaily Planet Daily News According to a report by Iran's Mehr News Agency on the 25th, Iranian parliament member Behnam Saeedi stated that Iran has formed a comprehensive plan for managing the Strait of Hormuz. In an interview with Mehr News Agency, Saeedi said a key component of this plan is to only recognize the name "Persian Gulf" in all official correspondence and commercial documents, and not to accept any other names. Ships and vessels navigating in the region must obtain permission from Iran. The sovereignty of the Strait of Hormuz will be entirely in Iran's hands. He further stated that ships identified as belonging to hostile countries by Iran's Supreme National Security Council or the General Staff of the Armed Forces are not allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, and Israeli vessels are absolutely prohibited from passing through this area. Vessels transiting the area must pay relevant fees for security, environmental protection, shipping management, and permit issuance, with priority given to payment in Rials. (Xinhua News Agency)
