Spanish police dismantle pirate manga website, seize crypto cold wallets containing 400,000 euros
Odaily Planet Daily News Spanish local police have seized two cryptocurrency cold wallets containing assets worth approximately 400,000 euros (about 467,000 USD) during an operation against an illegal manga distribution platform. The operation was carried out by the Almeria police in Spain, who arrested three suspects and dismantled what is considered the largest Spanish-language pirate manga website in the country. Reports indicate that the platform had been providing free pirated content since 2014, primarily profiting from advertising, with total revenue exceeding 4 million euros over the past decade. Notably, the cold wallets involved in the case were hidden inside a wall thermometer. Police have not yet disclosed whether they have obtained access to the relevant private keys or funds.
