Trump says war is basically over
Odaily News According to a post on social media by a CBS White House correspondent on the afternoon of March 9 local time, during a telephone interview, U.S. President Trump said the war could end very soon. Trump reportedly said, "I think this war is basically over, pretty much. They (Iran) have no navy, no communication systems, and no air force." Trump also reportedly said this was "progressing much faster" than the initial 4 to 5 week timeframe he had anticipated. The reporter also stated that when asked about Iran's new Supreme Leader Mujtaba Khamenei, Trump said, "I have nothing to say to him, nothing at all." Trump claimed he "already has someone in mind to succeed Khamenei" but did not elaborate further. Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Trump pointed out that ships are currently passing through, but he "is considering controlling it." Trump warned Iran: "They have fired everything they had to fire, they better not try any tricks, otherwise this country is finished." (Jin10)
