U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent: Iran's oil storage is exhausted and will be forced to halt production
Odaily Planet Daily reported that U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that Iran's oil storage is full and Tehran will need to stop oil production. After the U.S. imposed a blockade on Iranian oil exports, a key issue in this conflict is how much longer Iran can store its unsold oil before running out of space. Some analysts believe Iran still has several weeks of storage capacity and that Tehran has begun to slowly reduce production to cope with the deadlock.
In an interview with CNBC's "Financial Forum," Bessent stated that over the past three days, due to the U.S. blockade preventing oil tankers from entering or leaving the Persian Gulf, Iran has been unable to load tankers at its main oil export terminal, Kharg Island. In the first month of the U.S. blockade, American forces have forced 70 ships reportedly heading to or from Iranian ports to change course. (Jin Shi)
