As NFT enthusiasts, whenever there are well-known IP explosions or new products launched on Mint, my friends and I are always the first to rush to the front line. After Mint, most NFTs will exist in the form of blind boxes for a few days before they are opened.
During this period of time, we always hold an illusion:If my blind box is a rare model, will it take off in place? But every time the box is opened, the results are surprisingly consistent: the NFT attributes are not good, and the ranking is basically at the bottom. It is a "treasure" to be opened until the ranking is close to the waist. As far as the participants around me (very small sample size), no one has ever issued a top 100 NFT.
Is there a possibility: there are not a few NFT players who have experienced the above situation? After all, it is not uncommon for us to see players posting their top-ranked NFT blind box on social media.
Where did these rare blind boxes go? During the days of waiting for the box to be opened, has our NFT blind box been exchanged? Why are some blind boxes with specific numbers bidding at high prices when the blind box has not yet been opened? Does this mean that our blind box is "transparent" to some groups? Are lucky people really relying on luck?
In response to the above problems, Odaily discussed with many technical professionals in the industry.
NFTSCAN co-founder Shi Er believes that NFT blind boxes are transparent to project issuers, and the so-called "blind box" status is only uncertain for players.
For example, when players are on the website Mint, they will randomly assign blind box numbers (assuming 1-10000); but the blind box with a specific number is determined and known when the corresponding picture/video behind it is created; so the player is in At the end of Mint, its blind box status is certain for issuers.
As for why the rare money is always not drawn, some project issuers may have adjusted the random number. Assuming that the rarest NFT blind box number is 888, the random number range of ordinary players mint will skip this number.
Even if the project party releases all the blind box numbers, you will not be able to draw rare ones, because they can theoretically change the metadata to make your rare ones become common ones.
"If the json content of the NFT asset TokenURI is stored on a centralized server, then in theory, the project party has the authority to modify the metadata; if the json content is stored on a distributed network such as IPFS, it cannot be modified anymore. "Twelveexpress. (Note: The json content includes the storage path of the image corresponding to the NFT, as well as various attributes and parameters of the NFT asset, as shown in the figure below.)
Of course, this does not mean that the publisher has unlimited opportunities for modification. A technical person said that if the NFT is uploaded to Opensea, its status will be frozen and locked, and the issuer will no longer be able to modify the data.
However, for most NFT issuers, due to the lack of auditing, there is a large room for operability in the early stage, and the blind box is in a "transparent and visible" state, leaving a large room for operation. In this case, in the blind box game, the player loses from the very beginning.
