But are there really 10,000 Punks on the market now?

According to a post by @punk9863tweetstweets

, as many as 300 CryptoPunks may have been lost forever, with five known to have been lost through owner error.
In fact, only five CryptoPunks are known to have been "destroyed". One "alien" Punk was inadvertently destroyed by @ArtOnBlockchain, two Punks were sent to the token contract causing it to be destroyed, and two Punks were sent to a wrong address and thus destroyed.

Four of the wallets contained more than a dozen Punks, and one wallet held 141 Punks. The 50 wallets held a total of nearly 300 Punks, including one "zombie," 26 "hoodies," 12 "3Ds," and five "Tiaras." These are the rarest type of CryptoPunks and are considered more valuable than other NFTs. You can also think of it this way: not all punks are "equal".

The Lost Punk Is Worth $100 Million
Are these 300 Punks really lost? Might be wrong to assert from @punk9863's tweet alone, but it's true that the owners of these Punks haven't traded in over three years, though they are at least willing to claim meebits for financial gain, seeking NFTs that are freely available to crypto owners.
However, the market can only assume that these punks have been lost. According to the current floor price of Punk, which is the lowest price of all Punks, the value of these 300 Punks that are considered lost is around 20,000 ETH or $80 million. However, many of the punks that are assumed to have been lost are not floor punks, which should be worth more than $100 million in real rarity.
According to @punk9863, this may also just be a conservative estimate. “I only counted wallets that had no transactions for more than three years. If I add unclaimed meebits and other estimates, I even expect more than 500 Punks to have been lost.”
