Odaily News As Congress returns to session, senators will have a tough job to do if they want to meet deadlines set by President Trump.
First due is Trump's massive tax and budget package, known as the "Big Beautiful Bill." An updated version of the bill passed the House of Representatives last month by a narrow vote of 215 to 214.
The bill now heads to the Senate, where it is expected to face similar resistance from some Republican dissenters. The goal of the GOP leadership is to get the bill — preferably as close to the current version as possible — to the president for his signature by July 4.
The next task for senators is to pass the GENIUS Act, which Trump hopes will be passed before the end of the summer. A person familiar with the matter said that the US president's growing interest in the crypto business poses a challenge to bipartisan support from Republicans and Democrats. (Blockworks)
