Bitcoin hits new high on 14th anniversary of Bitcoin Pizza Day, Bitcoin used to buy pizza is now worth nearly $1.1 billion

Bitcoin Pizza Day is the day when the first commercial transaction with Bitcoin took place. On May 22, 2010, Laszlo Hanyecz, a programmer from Florida, bought two Papa John’s pizzas for 10,000 Bitcoins, worth about $40 at the time. 14 years later, that amount of Bitcoin has grown to nearly $1.1 billion.
