2025-04-07 00:18
Odaily News Casa Chief Security Officer Jameson Lopp issued a warning about Bitcoin address poisoning attacks, which use fake addresses with the same characters as the user's historical addresses to trick users into sending funds to the wrong address. Lopp's analysis pointed out that this type of attack has been active since July 2023, and has accumulated nearly 48,000 related transactions to date.
According to Cyvers data, such attacks have caused losses of more than $1.2 million in March 2025. Lopp called on users to carefully check the complete address before sending funds, and urged the wallet interface to be optimized to avoid hiding the middle part of the address. (Cointelegraph)
