Co-founder of Russian-sanctioned crypto exchange Garantex arrested in India

Odaily News According to TechCrunch, Aleksej Besciokov, co-founder of the sanctioned Russian crypto trading platform Garantex, was arrested while on vacation in India. Besciokov faces charges of money laundering conspiracy, sanctions violation conspiracy, and operating an unlicensed money transmission business. Last week, a joint international law enforcement operation consisting of the United States, Germany, and Finland seized Garantex's servers and domain names and froze nearly $28 million in crypto assets. The operation was assisted by stablecoin issuer Tether.
