New York State proposes criminal bill on crypto fraud

Odaily News The New York State Assembly is considering a new bill (A06515) that would create multiple criminal offenses related to cryptocurrency fraud.
The bill was proposed by Congressman Vanel and will add a new provision to the New York State Penal Code (Chapter K, Section 191) to specifically define clear types of crimes for fraud in the cryptocurrency field, including: virtual token fraud, illegal "rug pull" (project parties run away with funds), private key fraud, and fraud involving failure to disclose virtual token interests.
