Odaily News Cboe BZX Exchange has proposed to amend Rule 19.3 to allow the exchange to launch options trading on an Ethereum spot ETF, a "competing filing" based on a similar proposal filed by the New York Stock Exchange's American division, which is currently awaiting approval from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The filing specifically mentions the Bitwise Ethereum ETF, the Grayscale Ethereum Trust, the Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust, and "any trust that holds Ether." Cboe BZX wrote in the filing: "The Exchange believes that offering Ethereum fund options will benefit investors by providing them with an additional, relatively low-cost investment vehicle to gain exposure to spot Ether, as well as a hedging tool to meet their investment needs in Ether products and positions."
