Multicoin co-founder: Lost confidence in Ethereum since 2017, and the situation has remained almost unchanged in 7 years
2025-01-22 02:23:19

Odaily News Kyle Samani, co-founder and managing partner of Multicoin Capital, said in an article on X that Ethereum was his starting point for entering the cryptocurrency field in 2016. At that time, he was also optimistic about Ethereum's vision of permissionless finance and smart contracts.
In Kyle's view, Ethereum has obvious scalability issues, but when Kyle enthusiastically attended Devcon 3 in Cancun, Mexico in 2017, he was frustrated to find that no one was trying to discuss scalability issues. The Ethereum Foundation seemed to have no idea, unaware of what was happening around it, and unable to come up with a specific feasible plan and timetable.
Kyle said: "No one inside the Ethereum Foundation has the awareness of promoting a specific expansion plan. Devcon 3 is when I lost confidence in Ethereum, and I don’t think anything has changed in the 7 years since then. The leadership of the Ethereum Foundation still completely lacks a sense of urgency, is out of touch with the needs of core members, and still has no long-term goals."
