Odaily News French company Data4 will build two new data centers in Greece, positioning itself as a key hub for connectivity and data hosting in the Mediterranean region. Data4's new campus is expected to play a key role in the development of Greece's digital infrastructure, supporting its goal of becoming a regional leader in technology and IT. Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis highlighted the investment's potential to boost the local economy, improve Greece's global image and create opportunities for skilled technical workers. "The government is committed to supporting projects that drive digital transformation and promote innovation," he said. Data4 plans to build at least two data centers, the first of which is currently under construction and is expected to take about two years to complete. Data4 CEO Olivier Micheli said that the second building will begin construction "depending on the uptake and acceleration of the Greek market," and "the plan is that by the end of 2026, or January 2027, the first data center will be ready."
