Decentralized prediction market platform Polymarket blocks users from French market

Odaily News Decentralized prediction market platform Polymarket has announced that it has suspended access to its platform for users in France. The move comes weeks after the French National Gaming Authority (ANJ) launched a gambling compliance investigation into the platform. The investigation is reported to have stemmed from a French trader who made a large bet on Trump's victory in the 2024 U.S. presidential election on the platform. Although Polymarket has implemented an IP ban, according to French cryptocurrency news site The Big Whale, users can still access the platform through VPN. As of press time, Polymarket's terms of service have not yet updated the relevant restrictions. (CoinDesk)
