Odaily News The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has set up a website to collect statements from those affected by the 2016 Bitfinex hack, aiming to provide potential victims with the opportunity to tell how the criminal actions of Ilya Lichtenstein and his wife Heather Morgan affected them. Although the DOJ's position is that there are no victims for the crimes convicted under the Crime Victims Rights Act (CVRA), the department has issued this notice to the public to ensure that anyone who may have been harmed by the defendants' actions can be heard. This includes affected Bitfinex account holders. Earlier news, U.S. prosecutors temporarily believed that the only compensation recipient who met the victim status in the 2016 Bitfinex hack was Bitfinex. (Decrypt)
