Two Ethereum researchers resign from EigenLayer advisory positions to focus on Ethereum
2024-11-02 23:47:31
Odaily News Ethereum researchers Justin Drake and Dankrad Feist posted on X that they have resigned from their advisory positions to focus on the Ethereum network after causing controversy by announcing that they serve as advisors to the re-staking platform Eigenlayer. Drake noted that he resigned from the position in September. "I want to apologize to the Ethereum community and my colleagues at EF (Ethereum Foundation) for causing this farce, which in hindsight was a bad move for me," Drake wrote in the statement. Drake once described his token allocation payment as a huge sum, claiming that it represented "millions of dollars in token vesting over 3 years." Feist said in the post: "EigenLayer is a great project, and I hope it will continue to complement Ethereum well in many ways. But there is still a lot of important work to be done on Ethereum, and I will focus all my energy on completing it." In addition, Drake also stated, "I will reject all advisors, angel investments, and security committees in the future. This personal policy goes beyond the recent EF-wide conflict of interest policy, not because anyone asked me to do so, but because I want to show my commitment to neutrality." (The Block)
