Odaily News Rapper and producer Sean "Diddy" Combs will have the same lawyers defending him as former FTX CEO SBF after he was charged in New York with racketeering and sex trafficking. In a notice of appeal filed on Monday, Alexandra Shapiro, a partner at the law firm Shapiro Arato Bach, was named as defendant counsel for Combs. Shapiro has also represented SBF since he was found guilty by a jury last year for defrauding investors. Prosecutors at the time said SBF orchestrated "perhaps the biggest fraud of the past decade" and compared him to Ponzi scheme mastermind Bernie Madoff. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison. Last month, Shapiro filed an appeal for SBF, asking for a new trial. Shapiro criticized New York District Judge Lewis Kaplan's handling of the case and said SBF should not be blocked from presenting certain evidence. (The Block) According to three people familiar with the matter, musician Sean “Diddy” Combs, who was arrested on suspicion of extortion, is being held in the same cell block as SBF at a federal detention center in Brooklyn. Sources revealed that the prisoners in this area are separated, but they share some living space.
