Odaily News An employee of Woori Bank in South Korea was arrested and prosecuted for embezzling 18 billion won (about 13 million US dollars) of public funds, of which about 15 billion won (about 10.84 million US dollars) was spent on purchasing virtual assets. From July to May last year, the employee forged loan documents 35 times in the name of 17 customers, including individuals and companies, applied for false loans, and then transferred the loan amount to the accounts of acquaintances, totaling about 17.77 billion won. The procuratorate confiscated 180 million won from the employee's residence, and froze virtual asset exchange deposits, bank deposits, and rental deposits totaling about 4.5 billion won through confiscation and collection.
