Odaily News The North Carolina State Assembly passed a bill on Wednesday that restricts the state government from using and accepting the central bank digital currency (CBDC) issued by the Federal Reserve. The bill has now been submitted to Governor Roy Cooper for approval. If Cooper signs the bill into law, it will immediately prohibit the state's institutions and courts from accepting "payments using central bank digital currency" and will also prohibit related parties from participating in CBDC testing conducted by "any Federal Reserve branch."
