Odaily news chain game Axie Infinity announced that Axie Origins will enter maintenance mode at 11:30 on April 3, Beijing time to start the eighth season (Season 8). The distribution of leaderboard rewards in Origins Season 8 will be adjusted from the initially determined 100,000 players to the top 30,000 players. Compared with the previous season, the reward structure has been adjusted to reward more players in the middle of the leaderboard. In addition, the prize pool for the eighth season leaderboard rewards will be increased to 3,000 AXS. The collectible chest will be re-launched in Season 8, with a reward pool of 7,000 AXS. The criteria for qualifying and how rewards are distributed will be similar to Season 7, but a new condition will be introduced: players must hold collectibles from the beginning to the end of an era to be eligible for that eras collectible chests.
