Odaily News According to people familiar with the matter, Ant Financial is planning to exit its investment in AT Capital. This investment is the core of Ant Group’s bets in the field of digital assets. Its unclear whether the venture capital firm will continue operations or attract new investors, with the companys website returning a timeout error to users as of Monday afternoon. An Ant Financial spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment. AT Capital, founded in April 2021, has invested in some of the hottest crypto startups, including digital asset lender Matrixport and ethereum software maker ConsenSys, while Ant Financial is a major investor in AT. Data from PitchBook shows that crypto venture capital investment fell to its lowest level since 2020 in the second quarter (pictured), a decline that followed last year’s virtual asset crash.
