OpenSea announces redeemable NFT standards and will introduce on-chain redeemable support for creators.

2023-08-30 02:35
Odaily News: According to official sources, OpenSea recently announced that it will release two Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIP-7496 and EIP-7498) and two Seaport Improvement Proposals (SIP-14 and SIP-15) to promote the development of the redeemable ecosystem. In the coming weeks, OpenSea will collaborate with developers and creators, seeking feedback to ensure that the mentioned standards meet the needs of the ecosystem.

Based on these standards, the team will launch more product plans to support various redeemable NFT use cases. OpenSea has already released public concept verifications to showcase this experience. For example, "Burnie the Flame" allows users to mint a Baby Burn egg on the OpenSea Drop page, then go to the redemption page to destroy the egg and exchange it for Burnie. Additionally, they will directly offer on-chain redeemable support to all creators on OpenSea and extend the on-chain redemption standards. This will make it easier for creators to link items in their series to off-chain redemption experiences outside of OpenSea, while still tracking the redemption status on-chain through features or destruction.

Moreover, the team is exploring partnerships to achieve no-code solutions, making it easier for creators to implement off-chain redemption in common vertical fields.
