Odaily News: Stuart Alderoty, Chief Legal Officer of Ripple, responded to the recent actions taken by the SEC on X, stating that the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) currently does not have the "right" to appeal, which is why they are seeking permission to file an "interlocutory" appeal. Ripple will submit a response to the court next week.
In previous news, the SEC has submitted a letter to Judge Analisa Torres in the Southern District of New York, seeking an interlocutory appeal on two adverse liability rulings in the Ripple Labs case. The SEC stated that they are seeking an appeal on certain parts of the ruling, while the other parts will proceed to trial. Ripple is required to respond by August 16th, and the SEC will submit an opening brief on August 18th.
