Odaily news: According to market sources, FTX co-founder SBF has formally applied for a pardon from Trump.

Odaily Odaily reports that Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF), the founder of FTX who was sentenced to 25 years in prison, stated in a federal prison interview that he "absolutely" hopes to receive a presidential pardon from the U.S., but declined to reveal whether his family is lobbying the White House for it.

SBF was sentenced to 25 years in prison in March 2024 for the FTX collapse, after a jury found him guilty on seven counts, including wire fraud and conspiracy. The court determined that FTX customers lost approximately $8 billion, equity investors lost $1.7 billion, and lenders to Alameda Research lost $1.3 billion.

However, SBF once again denied misappropriating user funds and claimed that with the recovery of the crypto market, FTX customers have now received approximately 170% in repayments. He stated that FTX was "one of the few platforms with over-collateralized funds," arguing that the criminal prosecution and long prison sentence he faced were unreasonable.

Additionally, SBF also discussed the development of the artificial intelligence and space industries, saying he regrets missing the AI wave and highly praised Elon Musk's entrepreneurial abilities.
